Vaccinations, or immunizations, are your best defense against illness. Vaccines effectively stop the spread of contagious diseases, significantly reducing the world’s mortality rate. Thanks to vaccines, millions have avoided crippling and life-threatening diseases. Up-to-date vaccines are especially important for children three and under.

How Vaccines Work

Your body’s immune system fights off illnesses by producing antibodies specific to each virus it encounters. Some highly contagious viruses, however, can make you seriously ill and can be life-threatening. Viruses like measles can even cause blindness.

Vaccines safely teach your body how to develop immunity without you getting sick. A vaccination shot contains a small, weakened strain of a specific disease. Once it enters your system, it helps your body naturally produce antibodies for that disease. Some vaccines, like the flu shot, need to be repeated periodically, while others, like the chickenpox vaccine, can provide lifelong immunity.

How Can We Help?

We offer various vaccines, including the COVID-19 vaccine (Moderna), Hepatitis, TB shot, Shingrix, Meningococcal, and B-12 injections. We also provide flu shots, MMR, DTaP/Tdap, Varicella, Hepatitis A and B, Pneumococcal, and Polio vaccines.

Vaccinations prevent the spread of harmful diseases, protect individuals from life-threatening infections, and help the immune system create antibodies to fight off illnesses. They are crucial for maintaining public health and preventing outbreaks.

Minor side effects may include pain or swelling at the injection site, joint or muscle aches, mild fever, headache, fatigue, and chills. Serious side effects are rare. Vaccines are much safer than the diseases they prevent.

You can schedule an appointment or walk in for vaccinations at our clinic. We work with most insurance companies and offer self-pay options. For more information or to schedule a visit, call us at (941) 364-4379.
